Rotolock Tapered Mandrels

For grinding and turning splines, Thread Check offers expanding key type and rotalock mandrels. The rotolock mandrels are suitable for side fitting splines with clamping on the side flanks. Expanding key type mandrels are suitable for major diameter fitting splines. Thread Check also offers helical spline fixture gauges and setting ring gages which measure between balls of an internal helical splined component. Thread Check also offers a wide selection of tapered and helical splined mandrels which are used to check major and minor diameters and tooth thickness. Involute or serrated tapered splined mandrels determine the pitch line location of component internal splines. They can be used to inspect run out of component datum faces or diameters by turning on centers.

TAPERED AND HELICAL SPLINED MANDRELS

Function:- Checking of Major/Minor diameters and tooth thickness.

Principle:- Tapered splines (involute or serrated) to allow the pitch line location of component internal splines. Tooth thickness taper accomodates full spread of part space width tolerance.

Application:- Rotate on centres to allow runout inspection of component datum faces or diameters.

Expanding and Tapered Mandrels

EXPANDING AND TAPERED MANDRELS

3 Jaw Expanding Mandrel.

Principle :- Parallel sliding expanding jaws sliding in inclined keyways, stepped to increase the range of expansion.

Application :- Locate and expand onto the inside bores of components, rotates on centres to allow runout inspection of component datum faces or diameters.

Accuracy :- b0.0025mm TIR over entire range of expansion.

Range :- 10mm to 180mm using a range of 12 mandrels. 0.4mm to 25mm expansion can be achieved on a single mandrel.

Tapered Splined Mandrel.
